Melting...
We're in the midst of a category 4 (out of 5) heat wave. Temperatures here have been in the 105-110 range for just about 2 weeks now. My little girl dropped a plastic stetchy toy onto the ground outside the other day and within seconds, it had melted and stuck to the ground! I'm thankful for our backyard pool - we'd rarely be outside this time of year if it weren't for that thing. It's like a bath-tub right now, though - the water was 92 degrees last night at 7 PM! I read this morning that some 80+ deaths in California have been blamed on the heat so far - 7 locally.

I understand the hating of the heat wave. We normally have 9-10 days a year of 90+ temperatures. We've hit that this month. Supposedly by Tuesday we'll be back to normal here.
